Simple and Straight Forward

As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together.

I completely agree! It always astounds me when people are so adamant that there will never be compassion for animals unless there is compassion, first, for people. Implying that it's not right to focus on helping non-humans have better lives, while there are humans suffering. To me, it's not a matter of one or the other. For some people, compassion is first arrived at through caring about other people. For other people, compassion is first arrived at through caring about non-humans.
