Starting Fresh; Starting the New Year

“If you have made a mistake…there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start at any moment you choose, for this thing we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down.” ~ Mary Pickford

MEET AMELIA BEDELIA, aka "Milly" or "the Mil"
(companion of Laurel of

It was exactly seven years ago on December 24th that I met my dog, Amelia Bedelia, who I usually call "Milly" or "the Mil"! She was a stray on Christmas Eve, brought to my door by a neighbor who knew ours was a dog-friendly household. I fell in love at first sight. She was wearing a cat collar that was too small for her. The collar's ID tag led nowhere and no one came forward for her. I adopted her at the beginning of the year once her stray hold was over. As best as I can tell, she is a Black Lab/Border Collie mix, and I believe she was a year old when she came into my life. We are both going grey together these days!

♥ Make Fabulous Vegan Dishes While Supporting Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary! ♥

Since early autumn, EtsyVeg Member Jennifer of
JaKRandomArt has been spearheading a combined team effort to create a vegan cookbook to benefit an important animal charity. Well, the book is finally at the printer and due in any day now! Cooking With Compassion is filled with almost 50 vegan recipes contributed by the members of the Cruelty Free Etsy, Vegan Etsy, and EtsyVeg street teams.

In "zine" form and 5.5 x 8.5", the Cooking With Compassion is printed in black & white recycled paper using vegetable inks. And the awesome cover is a painting by talented team member mvegan5! Best of all, all profits from the sale of the cookbook will go to the Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary, a safe haven for rescued farm animals.

Reserve your copy now and *PRE-ORDER* the zine at jakrandomart, silentlotus, mvegan5, or emmask9kitchen.

Congrats to Jennifer and those who contributed!
