EtsyVeg's First Creative Challenge

You are invited to join EtsyVeg in our very first creative challenge to raise awareness about vegan/vegetarian lifestyles, our shops, & the rights of animals to live free of exploitation.

Our "MayChallenge" theme focuses on flowers, plants, and/or the use of natural herbs instead of animal-derived medicines like premarin and shark cartilage. This can also tie in with animal testing and vivisection.

Entry involves simply posting the item(s) in your shop (you can submit an item already listed). Please tag your creations that celebrate plants and/or herbs with the tag "herbchallenge" (all one word, and without the quotations). This will make it easier to search for challenge entries for use in treasuries and the like.

Any EtsyVeg member can submit pieces based on the current month's theme, and members of CrueltyFreeEtsy and VeganEtsy are also invited to join (spread the word). Challenge entries can be subtle (such as simply colored green, let's say) or obvious (a booklet about the value of herbs and plants in medicine rather than animal products); you are the judge of whether your entries apply. You can tag items that are already applicable in your shop, or you can create new items with the herbchallenge in mind. Deadline for entry is May 31st.

All are invited to make treasuries throughout the month of May by doing a tag search for herbchallenge (again, all one word) and putting only those items in the treasury. If you create a treasury, please let everyone know so that we can all click on each item and comment to move the treasury up the list and increase our chances of making front page with our message! Entries will be featured in the team's blog at the beginning of June. Entrants will suggest possible themes for June and July to be voted on toward the end of May.

Happy creating, and thank you for participating! :)
